Dr. Stuart King, Chair | MD, MBA, Department of Spine & Pain Management, Christie Clinic


In Christie Clinic’s Department of Spine & Pain Management, Dr. King specializes in painful disorders of the spine and back. He utilizes a comprehensive approach and the most advanced interventional techniques to treat disorders of the back and spine.

Dr. King received his BS and MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, his MD from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, did his internship at the University of Missouri at Kansas City (General Surgery), and his residency at the University of Missouri at Kansas City (Anesthesiology).

He is board certified with the American Board of Anesthesiology, the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the American Board of Pain Medicine, and he is a Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice. In addition to his service on the Foundation board, Dr. King serves on the Champaign County Medical Society Board.

Dr. King is a native of Champaign-Urbana, an avid Illini fan, and an assistant professor in the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He served as a Major in the Army National Guard Medical Corp for about 20 years and has held his commercial pilot certificate for 10 years. He has three children and is active in Holy Cross Church’s parish.
